Innovative design and a reverence for nature are the hallmarks of truly great golf courses, and The Country Club at Wakefield Plantation’s layout is no exception. The par-71, 7,257-yard championship golf course was designed by Hale Irwin to fit harmoniously with its surroundings on 217 pristine acres adjacent to Falls Lake.

Our members play on corridors of meticulously sculpted Bermuda fairways framed by stately stands of towering pine trees and enjoy the challenges numerous creeks add to the course’s strategic diversity. Five sets of tees on each hole provide golfers of all abilities with an amiable round amidst the serene natural beauty of Wake County. Our active golf calendar offers opportunities to participate in club-sponsored events and tournaments throughout the season.

The opening, medium-length par 4 plays significantly shorter than its yardage. With a slightly right-to-left and downhill fairway, an accurate drive affords an aggressive approach to a large green guarded by a front-left bunker.
